Today, 1/23/09, our long awaited Chevy ambulance was delivered from Wheeled Coach. This ambulance was purchased for $180,000 and replaced our 98 Freightliner ambulance. A quick look at the features on our new Medic 3 include:

  • 4 Cameras; one on each side of the truck that helps us see in our blind spot, one in the patient area that allows us to see what's going on in the back, and one behind the unit. The left and right cameras activate automatically upon activation of our turn signals and the rear camera activates when the unit is placed in reverse.
  • Audio speakers in the patient area; allows the patient to listen to music while enroute to the hospital.
  • Two-tone siren along with the Rumbler low tone siren.
  • Full LED lighting package with LED directional in the rear of the unit.
  • LED lighting in the patient area (along with supplemental flourescent lighting).
  • Much more, see the photos below for a better look.
